It's necessary to understand the attitudes and prejudices associated to people with disabilities in the labor market. Firstly, an online questionnaire will be prepared and applied to human resources and companies’ services in order to assess the vision of these services in the face of disability.
The results of this questionnaire will help us change the attitudes of companies and employers towards people with disabilities. The end result of the questionnaire will be represented by a report regarding the attitudes of HR companies, the labor market situation of people with disabilities, but also possible strategies to raise awareness of the potential of people with disabilities to work.
Also, a short video will be filmed about misconceptions regarding the relationship between disability and work.
The Organisations’ Human Resources departments report on current attitudes towards disability and disabled people is now available for download.
You can access the report also in German, Portuguese and Romanian.

This intellectual output foresees that people with motor, intellectual and sensory disabilities will participate in a focus group. This group will contain 5 to 6 participants per group so that the interviewer can detect information given through the nonverbal language of the interviewees. A range of focus groups will be held in various countries to collect the same type of information. In addition to being close to people with disabilities, this focus group will allow them to recognize and perceive the barriers they have in their daily lives, as well as gather information based on the perceived reality of disabled people. Based on the focus groups, the partners will make a short awareness movie to bring some visibility to people with disabilities.

The partners will design a Training Course for HR professionals and job counselors of disabled people. The goal of the training is to change the attitudes that the labour market has towards people with disabilities and thus both the professionals who support the job search and those who recruit must have their needs aligned; an important innovation in the area of employability of people with disabilities, because it will directly raise awareness and empower the people who are the gateway to employment. This course will be piloted in the 4 partner countries: Portugal, Romania, Germany and UK.
